About Me:
Now that I am in my “Mid-Life”, I do this work because it edifies my soul. My passion comes from life-experiences….both good and bad. Lessons from motherhood, loss, career changes, spirituality, divorce, blended families, loving someone with addiction, health challenges, codependency, crushed dreams, and beautiful unexpected chapters fuel my commitment to the work.
There is beauty in “Plan ‘B”.
My path has given me empathy and purpose as I work with others.
What it’s like to work with me:
You will grow in your self-worth and pursue a fulfilling life with meaningful relationships.
I am a depth therapist….the kind who who will challenge you, laugh with you and cry with you. My approach is down-to-earth and open-minded. I combine proven, clinically studied therapeutic methods along with compassion. We will recognize patterns in your life, where they come from and if they are no longer helpful. We will discover faulty conclusions you’ve made and how to pivot towards an edifying, effective, and empowering way to live.
I believe you are the expert of your own life.

EMDR
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method. It is proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes showing EMDR therapy as a helpful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences .
Clients briefly focus on a traumatic memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements). Significant reduction in the vividness and emotions associated with the trauma memories is experienced.
-
Internal Family Systems
Internal Family Systems is a powerfully transformative, evidence-based model of psychotherapy. IFS focuses on “parts work”. We all have behaviors, or parts of us, that show up to keep us safe. Behaviors or beliefs that may have worked for us in the past, may no longer be good for us. Recognizing these behaviors and understanding why they are there is the first step. Connecting with your sense of self, your values and priorities can help you heal the relationship you have with yourself and others.

Somatic Psychotherapy
Somatic psychotherapy teaches you how to calm your body when your nervous system is triggered. If you find yourself living with consistent underlying restlessness, unease or shut down, this modality is a life-changer. Through body movement, breath work, polyvagal theory, and connection, you can regulate your emotions and live with calmness, ease and healthy perspective.
I am a trauma informed CYP-500 yoga instructor and trained in Polyvagal Theory.
“Trauma victims cannot recover until they become familiar with and befriend the sensations in their bodies. Being frightened means that you live in a body that is always on guard. Angry people live in angry bodies….In order to change, people need to become aware of their sensations and the way that their bodies interact with the world around them.” (Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score)
